Everything is great except the name. Come on, Thekk Rockbender? He sounds like a ’30s pulp villain. Doc Savage should put this guy in his place. I’m going to shop Sjonegaard’s name on him.

If there is a descent amount of gargoyles in the base set i can.t see why you cannot play him second rank.

Then it would be better if it says:
Dwarfs gain the gargoyle trait while adjacent to bender. Would be clearer.

I though there was only 1 new Warlord and all the rest were MRP’s or Experienced Characters, but it’s not looking that way anymore. Did you change the direction you were heading for this?

The wording on the gargoyle trait is a valid issue, but since it doesn’t say “permanently gains” the trait, I would have to agree that it is only while that character is adjacent.
Overall, not a WOW, but very decent. He will certainly be interesting to play.
So far, all the warlords I think, besides the Chosen Summoner WL, kind of need to be in the first or second rank to be effective. A rogues’ dream!

The claim about Warlords was that only one would be a direct MRP - and that was Logan Ebonwoulfe.

The templating has always been adjacent characters gain XXX, just look at the dev hero. Adjacent devs get defend +10.
Uthanak’s Tower: Adjacent characters gain +5 AC and Riposte +5.
Adulation:Evil Characters Only. Spend Order: Attach this card to this cleric. While this card is attached, adjacent evil characters gain the ability: “Spend React: After an adjacent character suffers one or more wounds, inflict the wounds on this character instead”.
