The Mad Jester
Monday, April 27th, 2009I am back from EL:ITE - one of the premier Warlord events in Europe. Sure, it’s attendance is only rebuilding - as it is all over the world (EL:ITE once had 70+ players, but then at that one we all nearly froze to death because of a cold spell in Italy), but in terms of fun and food it’s a blast.
Among some great competition and meeting old friends a new Medusan Lord was revealed: Gixu (trying to pronounce that gets you as crazy as the character), former court jester of the Deverenian Emperor.

So, another Medusan Lord for Europe while the US again go empty? False.
The image you see (I’ll leave it to players who have been at the release to spoil the details) is the mirror image of the real Medusan Lord, created in a moment of panic. These mirror images, due to the immense power available to their creator, act independently, though, and don’t disappear at a mere touch. In fact, their mere existence denies mortals to perceive their creator.
In technical terms, Gixu exists in several copies (as Archos Loth) did. He will be run by several people in Europe (including me) and the US and some copies are reserved for “traveling” to events of deserving TOs, being temporarily played by them.
When a certain number of them is slain, the real Medusan Lord level challenge behind it will become visible. I expect Warlord players to be busy with this task for quite a while…
