Hello everybody!
Finally Sands of Oblivion is on its final leg and is scheduled to come of the printers at the end of February.
In light of the delays I have made several decisions which might be interesting to you:
- All of you who pre-ordered (and paid) SoO sets, will get a full set of the promo cards for each set. So if you ordered a playset you will get three sets instead of just 1 set.
- If you ordered (and paid) at least one SoO set, you may update to any number and still receive the promos as if you already ordered them in November.
- If you submit an entirely new order between now and the arrival of the cards, you will receive promo cards according to the old scheme (the 1st for the first set, the 2nd for he second set and the 3rd for the third set).
- All orders coming in till 24 hours before the set arrives here will be shipped immediately (especially to the US) via UPS. Orders after that will undergo a small delay while cards are being shipped to the US as freight.
You can also order (as Roy pointed out) individual sets now. Please note that there is a European version to be paid in EURO and a North American version to be paid in US-Dollars.
Thank you for your continuing support!

Sands of Oblivion is being packaged slightly closer to the original packaging scheme from back in the day, with the cards being sold in decks and each deck being themed around one faction. The decks are available to order individually and have recently been added to the online store. You will be happy to note there is a new estimated ship date for the cards (February 22, 2010), although I’m sure we all agree is it later than we hoped. I will try to get deck lists posted before the cards ship so that you can make better decisions when buying.
13 Ember Winds (Deverenian)
14 Secrets of Winterhold (Dwarf)
15 The Forest of Bone (Elf)
16 Tales of the Ruby Rogue (Free Kingdoms)
17 Rites of the Ogre Magi (Nothrog)
18 Blood for Blood (The Chosen)
19 Ebon Wings (Mercenary)

Dear Warlord Fans!
The new year is upon us and this year Warlord 4E will celebrate its second birthday already. It’s been a wild and bumpy ride so far, but considering the extremely hostile environment for collectible/customizable card games out there we have done okay so far.
Despite Warlord being heralded as a dead game in January 2008 we managed to publish 19 distinct products (including the upcoming Sands of Oblivion expansion) - and with the development under the wing of Oliver Schaaf we created the most balanced environment Warlord ever had.
On the bad side the growth of Warlord from being a niche game played by die-hard fans, who the core production team knew almost entirely on a personal level, to an almost mass-market game distributed by major distributors didn’t go without hick-ups. Severe hick-ups.
The fault lies entirely with me and my time management - personal issues didn’t leave me but a fraction of the time I had planned to devote to Warlord. I sincerely apologize for this to you Warlord fans! There simply was no way around it.
Roy Hembree, the new “Assistant” Brand Manager and Customer Support Manager has already brought fresh wind into the team and is of tremendous help to get the backlog of tasks done and unloading my shoulders to look smartly into the future. Due to his help I am now able to pledge that things will be better in 2010!
Talking of which: What’s up for 2010?
First, and obviously, Sands of Oblivion is coming out in the first Quarter of 2010.
Beyond that we are going to introduce a new overlord early in the second quarter and are planning Expansion No. 4 for August/September 2010 (with a pre-release at GenCon). We also have something planned for October/November, but I don’t want to spill those beans yet - I’ll have to find solutions for the bottlenecks that have been plaguing us in 2009 before I make more promises for 2010.
Roy will shortly announce a small event replacing the Winter Campaign this year and then go into calls for proposals for this year’s Summer Campaign Events.
All in all in 2010 we’ll focus on getting things done rather than just promising them. Yes, that was another promise.
