The Warlord Online World Cup
Things are starting to settle down a bit (at least I got some sleep last night ;-)).
Time to drop the next little event in your laps. While stores and clubs are still getting sorted I offer you another premier online event: The Warlord Online World Cup 2008 (WOWC ‘08).
How does it work? Well, it takes its structure from soccer cups (not THAT World Cup, though), being a single elimination tournament. Each round will give two opponents two weeks time to agree on a date to play a 75 minute, best of 3 match. The winner advances to the next round. This allows players from all over the world to participate.
Participation
Participation consists of two steps: A) You must be eligible and B) You must send me (Arven) a PM at www.cardmasters.de, stating your real name, address, and the Warlord you are going to play.
You are eligible to participate if
- You are a member of the Ordo Phoenicis Ascendentis, or
- You have bought at least one Full Set of Cards (six starters) at my shop, or
- You bought at least one Full Set of Cards at your local store (contact me with details, if this fits your case).
Registration runs till Monday, 22nd.
We will (again) use David Millis’ Arcanist CCG and coordination will run through www.cardmasters.de . There will be prizes for winner, and top 4 (depending on turnout), as well as random participation prizes. This is meant to be fun, primarily.
Byes
There are bound to be byes, especially in the first round. Those will go to a) the winner of the Ordo Phoenicis Ascendentis online tournament, then b) to members of the Ordo Phoenicis Ascendentis in order of seniority (i.e. Knight Commanders first, then down to Members).
Cheating
Cheating obviously means disqualification. Don’t be an ass - the games are logged. Decks can change from round to round - as long as you stick to your Warlord.

So, where exactly is the registration page?

There is no registration page - you need to be logged in to the forum at http://www.cardmasters.de and send me (Arven) a PM in there.
All communication during the tournament will be done through the forum as well.

Do our purchases from GenCon count?
Ie, if I bought one of each starter at GenCon am I allowed to play?
Assuming I can figure out the program used to play online.
Thanks
Chris
