I don’t get YouTube

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Well, that’s not entirely true - I know what it is. I simply can’t put anything on it. I can only stare in awe what some people produce for it.

Have you ever looked what Legends of the Five Rings has? They have dozens of videos about clans, events (and some official ones).

We have one by Cardamus which has a cool casting wish list for a Warlord movie, which is actually quite funny and Roy’s Sell-a-thon prize drawing. That’s it.

I would like to change that. Therefore I am putting out a bounty to the Warlord community.

Produce any Warlord video and put it on YouTube. Ideally I’d like a nice little introduction on how to play the game, but I am looking forward to any video. If I like what I see enough to put it on this website (and a good introduction to Warlord will certainly get that), the recipient will get a full playset of expansion 4 with an option (his or her choice) to get older sets instead. That’s about a $350 value.

Any other cool videos may be awarded a runner’s up award worth $100 in the Warlord online shop.

So get creative and grab the bounty!

War on the Plains, part two

War on the Plains, part two
by Laurence J Sinclair

Alexa Genecourt suppressed the urge to curse as her ungainly steed refused to turn at the sting of her spurs. Her fellow knights were having similar problems, unable to bring their camels to bear on the attackers screaming down the dunes toward them. More than one beast had toppled to the ground with crossbow bolts piercing its hide, rider trapped beneath the bulk.

The ambush would have seen the death of each and every Deverenian in the patrol, had it not been for the wizard by her side. Having complained of the unrelenting heat throughout the journey so far, now he was more than willing to channel his power to explode fireballs amongst the enemy, blasting a spray of corpses into the air. That provided time enough to devise an appropriate response. (more…)

I’m just saying

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Look what arrived in the mail last night from Poland. The blue is a little more powdery than I had hoped and the numbers are REALLY small, but, you know, it’s the first time I’ve ever had dice custom made. I think they turned out pretty good.

The Thorn of Eban-Tarsis

The Thorn of Eban-Tarsis
by Greg Melnyk

“Damn Krun, damn the Scarab Legion and damn this swamp. I know we’re better off without Hate, Muddy, but nights like this make me miss the old days.”

“Heh.” Muddflek spits and watches as it falls towards the bog beneath them. He pulls his cloak tighter around his shoulders. “There are worse places to be sleepin’ than in a tree. Gullet of one o’ them landsharks for one.”

Yemat grunts and shifts slightly in his branch, taking care not to lose his balance. “I don’t know why Set’rokh wants this place mapped. There’s nothing here but trees, mud, water and things trying to eat us.”

A few notes about this list are in order. The first is that the European applications went to Arne instead of me and will therefore be announced separately. Another is that The Battle Standard wants to host their event as soon as possible, and it’s not yet possible (prize supports is in transit to the US). As soon as it’s here, The Battle Standard will be contacted and their event date determined. I need to communicate further with Game HQ about their date still (expect an email today Tobias). Finally, I have at least two more individuals who want to host events and I’m not sure if they’re still planning to apply. If you are, send in the application and let’s see what we can do for you.
